The General Motors Chevrolette Vortex 496 CID V8 cylinder engine, normally aspirated with Multi-Port Fuel Injection (MPFI) is capable of producing 420 break horsepower @ 5000 rpm, and 505 lb-ft of torque @4000 rpm. This engine is not available in a carburated version; however, a slightly detuned MPFI version can produce 375 brake horsepower @ 5000 rpm.
